Drake puts a spotlight on this unique art installation in Arizona

The rapper recently posted pictures on Instagram of the Roden Crater in northern Arizona.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz — Grammy-winning rapper Drake recently posted pictures of a visit he reportedly made to the Roden Crater art installation in northern Arizona.

In an Instagram post made on Sunday, the musician posted a series of pictures showcasing the large-scale installation created by James Turrell. Drake's post included pictures of Turrell in different parts of the installation.

"Came to see my member, @JamesTurrell," Drake wrote in the Instagram post.

Roden Crater, located within a volcanic cinder cone in Arizona's Painted Desert region, has been decades in the making and is currently not open to the public as it continues to undergo construction, according to the project's website.

Turrell has been refashioning the site to include tunnels and apertures that open onto Arizona's clear skies and capture light directly from the sun during the daytime. The area has been described as an immersive observatory that serves as a "gateway to the contemplation of light, time and landscape."

Arizona State University announced a few years ago it was raising money to help complete the Roden Crater project and build infrastructure around the site.

Drake is not the only famous celebrity to be associated with the unique art installation.

Kanye West reportedly donated $10 million to Roden Crater in 2019.
