Valley entertainment venue celebrates big milestone

The iconic Phoenix entertainment venue has hosted some of the world's biggest performers.

PHOENIX — A Valley entertainment venue is celebrating a big milestone by looking back at some of its biggest headliners over the years.

Celebrity Theatre opened 60 years ago and is one of Phoenix's most unique landmarks. The theatre opened on Jan. 13, 1964, with a performance of the musical “South Pacific.”

Since then, the venue has hosted many of the world's biggest performers, including Whitney Houston, Ray Charles, Diana Ross and many more.

And because of the revolving stage, no seat in the venue is more than 70 feet away from the stage.
