11-year-old Arizona pop singer, songwriter releases debut single

Logan Brown has already released a self-penned single, after getting invited to a Nashville area recording studio.

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. — What were you doing when you were 11? Odds are you weren't releasing music!

At just 11 years old, Logan Brown from Litchfield Park is already showing the world he’s a pop singer and songwriter.

Brown has already released a self-penned single, after getting invited to a Nashville area recording studio.

The up-and-coming model, pop singer and songwriter first learned how to play the piano, and then fell in love with guitar.

“Some influences like Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber, they play the guitar a lot, so I tried that and it was easier to bring around and busk,” said Brown.

And he’s always enjoyed singing. Let’s just say music is Logan’s passion.

“I think I’m writing it just how I feel inside,” he said. “Like I just let what’s inside come out, and then if that works, if that sounds good, I just use it.”

Brown learned how to play the guitar at a young age, and he’s had a lot of support and guidance from his parents. Yes, music runs in the family.

“My dad and mom, they both learned a little bit and then they started teaching me,” he said. “Then I just picked up on it.”

A year ago, he got the chance to perform at an art show and wanted to do more, and ever since then, he’s been playing at places like Desert Ridge and Tempe Marketplace.

Recently, his talent got noticed on Instagram, and he was invited to a recording studio near Nashville, Tennessee.

“We recorded my music at ‘Off The Row Studios’ and it was so fun,” said Brown.

He loved every minute of it.

“All I had to do is sing in the mic and then they took care of the rest,” he said.

On Dec. 1, Brown released the self-penned debut single, “By My Side,” a track that was produced by PT Houston and Erin McCaffrey.

“The song is about when you like someone you just can’t stop thinking about them,” he said.

The young pop singer and songwriter has high hopes to do even more. In fact, he’s getting ready to release another song called “Amazing."

“I thought this girl was amazing, and then when I picked up the guitar and I was like, I gotta write a song now,” he said.

Brown plans to go back to work on new music in Tennessee in March.

Logan’s parents are optimistic that this is just the beginning.

“What I love most is his determination and his dedication,” said Shawn Brown, Logan’s dad. “I mean, you can have talent, but without practicing all the time, you know, it’s wasted… and he is certainly not wasting it.”

“I’m so proud of him,” said Jenny Brown, Logan’s mom. “I mean, words can’t even describe it… just seeing his joy that comes with music is just amazing.”

As long as schoolwork comes first, Logan has their full support.

“It is his outlet,” Logan’s mom said. “It is his gift, and I just can’t imagine him doing anything else.”

At just 11 years old, Brown is shooting for the stars.

“I’ve already written two songs,” he said. “…and maybe I’m going to write an album, pretty soon, because I’m feeling it.”

When Logan’s not performing or writing songs, the A student is involved in several other extracurricular activities including Muay Thai kickboxing, jujitsu, hip-hop and breaking. He’s also a certified scuba diver.
