This was not your typical call for service from the Ashland Police Department, but thanks to some creative thinking, this story has a happy ending.
According to police, a deer was running through a backyard on Wednesday around 3 p.m. when she got stuck in a tree. The deer was able to get about half of her body through, but her hips wouldn't fit in between the tree branches.
"It was a little odd but like all of Ashland there's a lot of deer around and they come and eat your garden and can get in a lot of place," said Mike Gardner, a neighbor in the area.
Homeowner Jennifer England said she didn't even know the deer was in her backyard, let alone stuck in her tree.
But with the held of the Ashland Police Department and Gardner, the deer was set free when officials used a car jack to push apart the branches.
The deer was able to get out uninjured and made her way back to some greener, and broader pastures.
