PHOENIX - The Drug Enforcement Agency and Scottsdale Police Department arrested six people on drug charges including an MS-13 gang member on Friday, the DEA said in a statement.
According to the DEA, an investigation into drug trafficking led to search warrants being served at four residences on Friday. Agents and detectives seized two kilograms of cocaine, 1,000 fentanyl pills, $28,000 in cash, 16 weapons including stolen guns, body armor and thousands of rounds of ammunition and high-capacity magazines.
One suspect arrested was Jose Gonzalez-Ramos, who admitted to agents he was part of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang.
Yasary Bejarano, Luis Adrian Gonzalez Perez, Carlos Daniel Pineda Martinez, Jorge Marin Cuevas and John Hernandez Vera were also arrested. They all face multiple state drug and weapons charges, the DEA says.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety and Maricopa County Sheriff's Office also assisted in the investigation.
