Yuma man charged with sexually assaulting 12-year-old family member

46-year-old Randall Medders is charged with sexually assaulting the child in 2021 and 2022 and was arrested on Saturday.

YUMA, Ariz. — A Yuma man has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 12-year-old family member, according to the U.S. Marshals Service

46-year-old Randall Medders was arrested by the Arizona WANTED Violent Offender Task Force with the help of the Yuma Police Department on Friday. 

Medders, who had lived with the victim's family since 2015, allegedly began the abuse in 2021. The Marshals Service says it happened repeatedly and ended in 2022. 

After issuing an arrest warrant, the Marshals Service, WANTED Task Force and Yuma police were able to locate Medders quickly and take him into custody. 

He has been charged with molestation of a child, sexual abuse, aggravated assault with sexual motivation and voyeurism. 

He is being held on a $500,000 bond, according to the Yuma County Sheriff's Office.
