Valley police asking for help finding murder suspect

Xavier Hughely is accused of shooting his girlfriend on March 27. She died almost two weeks later. Police are still looking for him nearly two months later.

PHOENIX — Have you seen Xavier Hughley?  

Phoenix police say he is accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend in March and they need your help finding him. 

Police said the 30-year-old shot his girlfriend, 43-year-old Amanda George, at about 9:25 p.m. on March 27th near the intersection of 67th Avenue and Thomas Road. The shooting sent George to the hospital, where she died almost two weeks later on April 9.  

Police are still looking for Hughley almost two months later and are asking for the public's help finding him. They say he is known to frequent the area of McDowell Road between 51st and 83rd avenues in west Phoenix.

If you know where Hughley may be, you are asked to called Silent Witness at (480) WITNESS, or (480) TESTIGO to report a tip in Spanish. Tips can also be reported online at silentwitness.org. All tips can be reported anonymously and there is a $2,000 reward being offered for information leading to Hughley's arrest. 

Silent Witness:

Arizona's Silent Witness program allows people to send in tips and share information about crimes happening within their local communities.

The program shares unsolved felony case information in multiple ways, including TV, radio and social media.

Anyone who has information on a crime or recognizes a suspect described by the program is asked to call 480-948-6377, go to the program's website online or download the Silent Witness app to provide a tip. The identity of anyone who submits a tip is kept anonymous.

Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case.

Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
