Woman dies after she was found injured during welfare check, Glendale police say

GLENDALE, Ariz. — A woman has died and a suspect is in custody after she was found seriously hurt during a welfare check late Friday night, Glendale police said. 

Officers were called to a neighborhood near 43rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road for a welfare check. When they arrived, they reportedly found the woman with life-threatening injuries.

Saturday afternoon, Glendale police said that she had died and they had a suspect in custody. 

Investigators believe that this was an isolated incident and there's no threat to the public. 

Police officials said that they wouldn't release specifics until Monday. The woman's identity wasn't disclosed.

Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case. 

Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
