TUCSON, Ariz. — The Arizona Attorney General's Office is building a case against a former Tucson pediatrician accused of sexual misconduct with a minor while he was practicing medicine in Mississippi.

Dr. Mehul P. Dixit was arrested in Jackson, Mississippi, accused of fondling two young girls while working as a pediatric nephrologist (a kidney specialist), reports state.

Previously, Dixit practiced at the Tucson Medical Center and the University of Arizona Health and Sciences Center from 2000-2005, according to a press release from the office.

Arizona officials opened an investigation into Dixit following the arrest, concerned that there may be victims in Arizona that have not come forward. They ask that anyone with information contact the Attorney General's Office and reference "Dr. Dixit" via phone at 602-542-8888 or online at https://www.azag.gov/complaints/mfcu.

Officials shared a current photo of Dixit and one from 2002 to aid in recognition:
