TEMPE, Ariz. — A man was shot while potentially attempting to break into a home in Tempe Sunday morning, city police said. Details are limited at this time.
According to early reports, the incident happened shortly before 6 a.m. at a residence near Rural Road and Southern Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man who doesn't live at the home with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
No one else was injured, and the man was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police said that there are no threats to the public, but expect the area to be closed for the investigation. At the time of publication, police described the incident as a "possible attempted break-in."
