PHOENIX — An investigation has been launched after a teenager was injured in a shooting in south Phoenix, according to Phoenix police.
Police say they were called to the 1700 block of Wood Street on Sunday after the shooting. That is just northeast of the intersection of 16th Street and Broadway Road.
Officers got to the scene of the shooting just before 8 p.m. and found a teenage boy who had been shot. He was taken to a nearby hospital and his injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
The boy did not give any information on who shot him to officers.
Police are still at the scene and have shut down parts of 18th Street as they look for additional evidence.
This is a developing story and more details will be added as they are made available.
