Another suspect in the murder of Queen Creek teen posts bond, released with electronic monitoring

Other teen suspects in the case have also been released with electronic monitoring, authorities said.

PHOENIX — One of the teen suspects in the murder of a Queen Creek teenager in 2023 has posted bond and was released with electronic monitoring on Saturday, authorities said.

Treston Billey, one of seven teen suspects identified to have been involved in the murder of 16-year-old Preston Lord in October 2023, posted bail on Aug. 3 around noon, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

Billey was released with electronic monitoring. Taylor Sherman, another one of the teen suspects, was released from custody with electronic monitoring on July 4, and Talyn Vigil, another teen suspect, also posted bond and was released with electronic monitoring in April.

These three are among seven people – mostly teens – who are suspects in the murder of Preston Lord, a Queen Creek teenager who was assaulted at a Halloween party. Two days later, Lord died from his injuries. His death was ruled a homicide by the medical examiner.

Billey, Sherman and Vigil, as well as additional suspects William Owen Hines, Dominic Turner, and Jacob Meisner, all pleaded not guilty.
