Suspect gets 3 years probation for assaulting juvenile outside Gilbert In-N-Out

The 19-year-old defendant had been arrested for two separate assault cases in the East Valley.

GILBERT, Ariz. — One of the defendants accused of assaulting a juvenile outside an In-N-Out in Gilbert has been sentenced to three years of probation.

Christopher Fantastic, 19, was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to his involvement in two separate cases reported in the East Valley last year.

One of them occurred in August 2023 outside a fast food restaurant where a juvenile was assaulted by a group of teens.

The other occurred in Mesa last May and involved a large group of teens and young adults fighting.

Fantastic was not arrested until January 2024.

Cases of teen violence started getting more attention in the East Valley community following the murder of 16-year-old Preston Lord in Queen Creek last fall. A couple of months following Lord's death, Gilbert police reopened several assault cases linked to a group known as the "Gilbert Goons."

Fantastic is not one of the seven suspects who have been arrested in Lord's death.
