16-year-old allegedly assaulted 15-year-old in Gilbert

An additional teen is also facing charges for facilitating an assault, police say.

GILBERT, Ariz. — A teen was arrested following an alleged assault of a second teen in Gilbert, the city's police department said. 

Gilbert police said the alleged assault occurred on Sep. 21. A 16-year-old boy was allegedly assaulted near his home that evening by a 15-year-old whom the 16-year-old knew.

Police said the 15-year-old is facing one count of assault. Police also said a second 15-year-old is facing a facilitation to commit assault charge for their involvement in the attack.

No suspects are outstanding, police said.
