Medical examiner releases report on Preston Lord's death

Examiners didn't find anything significant in the toxicology screening, and the autopsy was consistent with the injuries that had been reported.

MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. — The Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner has released its report on Preston Lord, the Queen Creek 16-year-old who was killed leaving a Halloween party last year.

Lord was allegedly attacked by a group of teenagers, sparking a months-long investigation that ended in seven arrests.

Lord's autopsy report detailed that he'd sustained multiple blunt force injuries, consistent with what had been publicly reported up to now. The office also said that there were no significant findings in the toxicology report.

Lord's death was a homicide, the medical examiner concluded. Out of respect for Lord's family, specific details of the report have been omitted.
