GILBERT, Ariz. — Gilbert Chief of Police Michael Soelberg said the department is investigating a new case of teen violence and shared video of the incident during a news conference Thursday.
The video, obtained through an investigation last week, shows two individuals in a vehicle being attacked. The individuals outside the vehicle have been identified, Soelberg said. Police are asking for assistance in identifying the two people inside the vehicle.
The Gilbert police do not have a date, time or location of the new incident.
Soelberg showed videos of four incidents – including the new case – the police are investigating at the news conference. All videos and photos discussed are available on the department's teen violence webpage, Soelberg said.
Anyone with information regarding the cases or individuals involved should contact Gilbert Police at 480-503-6500 or submit a tip online.
Thursday's news conference is the latest in a series of weekly updates from the police chief as residents continue to monitor the East Valley incidents.
A series of teen violence incidents over the past few years have been brought to the attention of authorities after the recent death of 16-year-old Preston Lord. The high school student was killed last year during a Halloween party in the East Valley.
The investigations are ongoing and indictments and arrests in connection to multiple incidents have spread across several East Valley communities.
