PHOENIX — Three defendants connected to group violence cases associated with the "Gilbert Goons" have entered plea deals for their involvement in the violence.
The deals do not include jail time, but it’s possible a judge could decide on their own during sentencing that the defendants should get jail time.
Jacob Pennington, 20, who was charged in connection with multiple group-style assaults, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault for an attack outside of a Gilbert In-N-Out in December 2022. The victim told police that brass knuckles were used in the assault.

It will be up to a judge whether to accept Pennington's deal and if so, render a sentence. That hearing is set for June 10.
Pennington will be given supervised probation and 100 hours of community service, according to court documents obtained by 12News.

Deleon Hayes, 19, agreed to plead guilty to aggravated assault for his role in the August 2023 attack on Richard Kuehner's son, which also happened outside of In-N-Out in Gilbert. Hayes will be placed on supervised probation and was also given 100 hours of community service, court documents said.
Out of Pinal County, Garrett Bagshaw agreed to plead guilty to aggravated assault in connection to a November 2023 attack, court documents said. Prosecutors said Bagshaw's case was suspended so he could enter a diversion program.
While Bagshaw can try Diversion, prosecution would resume if it is not completed.
None of these suspects are charged in connection with Preston Lord's death in Queen Creek.
