MESA, Ariz. — A teacher's assistant at Lehi Elementary School has been arrested on suspicion of inappropriately touching a student and recording the abuse on his cell phone, officials said.
Antonio Jordan, 28, has been taken into custody by the Mesa Police Department after a 9-year-old student accused him of touching her after class.
Police said investigators found three videos on Jordan's phone of him allegedly abusing the victim on three different occasions. The videos were recorded inside a classroom and allegedly show Jordan using a stethoscope on the victim's body.
Jordan allegedly told police he had a "stethoscope fetish" and singled out the 9-year-old because of her interest in a stethoscope he brought to class, police said.
Court records show Jordan allegedly told police he knew his actions were wrong but he was "caught up in the moment."
The teacher assistant was booked into jail and could be facing multiple charges of sexual abuse.
