CASA GRANDE, Ariz. — A suspect is in the hospital after he was shot by a Casa Grande police officer Thursday afternoon, according to police reports.
Police were called to a neighborhood near Cottonwood Lane and Pinal Avenue around 5:50 p.m. for reports of a suspicious person in the area.
Authorities did not provide details on what led up to the shooting. The man's injuries are non-life-threatening, police said.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety has stepped in to handle the investigation. No officers were hurt during the shooting.

Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case.
Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
