Suspect arrested in shooting on University of Arizona campus

20-year-old Ryan Romero-Encinas was arrested Wednesday afternoon.

TUCSON, Ariz. — The suspect responsible for allegedly shooting and killing 19-year-old Minhaj Jamshidi was arrested.

On Wednesday at 3:44 p.m., 20-year-old Ryan Romero-Encinas, was arrested at the Riverwalk Luxury Apartments.

He was taken into custody without incident.

Late Sunday night around 11 p.m. police responded to a parking lot near the  Arizona Sonora Residence Hall where Jamshidi was found with gunshot wounds.

The shooting happened next to the volleyball courts.

The shooting occurred just feet away from the freshman dorms. Freshmen tell News 4 Tucson they are "shaken up" and "uneasy" following the deadly shooting.
