Silent Witness offers reward for information on suspect who shot, killed man in west Phoenix

PHOENIX — William Ray White, 40, was shot and killed by a man on a bicycle while walking behind a Phoenix business complex on May 5., according to officials with the Phoenix Police Department. Now, Silent Witness is offering a cash reward to anyone with information that can lead to an arrest in the case. 

Phoenix police officers responded to an area near McDowell Road and 43rd Avenue on May 5 just after 10 p.m. and found White with at least one gunshot wound, information from the Phoenix Police Department said. The fire department attempted life-saving measures, but White was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The suspect is seen on surveillance video leaving the scene on a white bicycle. He was last seen near 48th Avenue and McDowell Road, officials said. 

Anyone with any information is asked to call Silent Witness or submit a tip on their website. Details on how to submit a tip are below.

Silent Witness

Arizona's Silent Witness program allows people to send in tips and share information about crimes happening within their local communities. 

The program shares unsolved felony case information in multiple ways, including TV, radio and social media. 

Anyone who has information on a crime or recognizes a suspect described by the program is asked to call 480-948-6377, go to the program's website online or download the Silent Witness app to provide a tip. The identity of anyone who submits a tip is kept anonymous. 

Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case. 

Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
