PHOENIX — Three people are in custody after a shooting in west Phoenix that left two injured and a neighborhood without power, officials said.

Officers were called to the area of 59th Avenue and Thomas Road around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday for reports of a shooting in a nearby neighborhood.

When they arrived, they found multiple shell casings in front of a home southeast of Cartwright Elementary School. Officers also found a car crashed into a nearby light pole. That crash appears to have caused a minor power outage in the area, according to the SRP outage map.

Inside the home were two victims who had been shot, police said. They were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

While searching the area, police detained three people believed to be involved in the shooting.

The investigation is still underway. Police did not immediately disclose the identities of anyone involved.
