PHOENIX — A man is dead following a shooting in north Phoenix on Friday night, the city's department said. The suspect in the shooting has been arrested.
Phoenix police officers were called to a shooting at Tatum Boulevard and Union Hills Drive just before 11:30 p.m. When officers got to the scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound.
Police said officers provided aid until the fire department arrived, but the man, later identified as 49-year-old Nathan Page, died from his injuries at the scene.
Officers spoke to witnesses and reviewed surveillance footage from a nearby Circle K store that led them to the suspect, who possibly lived nearby, police said.
The victim's girlfriend told police that Page and the suspect got into a verbal altercation while at the store and the suspect allegedly threatened Page with a lead pipe.
The victim and the girlfriend walk away toward a nearby bus stop. The suspect then drove by and shot Page.
Detectives secured search warrants, which resulted in additional evidence and probable cause to book 31-year-old Arbron Mehaj. Mehaj is facing charges for second degree murder and was booked into the Maricopa County Hail.
