TEMPE, Ariz. — Tempe police are searching for a man considered "armed and dangerous" after a shooting near the Arizona State University campus early Monday morning, according to campus police.
The shooting reportedly happened near Myrtle Avenue and 7th Street around 6 a.m. When police arrived, they found a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound.
He was taken to the hospital, but his condition is currently unknown.
The suspected shooter ran away before police arrived, and is still outstanding.
ASU campus police described the suspect as a Black man, roughly 5-feet 10-inches tall wearing a gray or blue windbreaker and long pants.
If seen, residents are asked to call the Tempe Police Department or 911 immediately.
The shooting is still under investigation. The man who was shot is not affiliated with ASU, authorities said.

Anyone who has information on a crime or recognizes a suspect described by the program is asked to call 480-948-6377, go to the program's website online or download the Silent Witness app to provide a tip. The identity of anyone who submits a tip is kept anonymous.
Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case.
Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
