GILBERT, Ariz. — A $2,000 reward is available for new information that may help Gilbert police make an arrest in the murder of a young woman.
Rachel Hansen, 19, was shot to death by an intruder in the early morning hours of June 4, 2022. The victim had called 911 and reported that a stranger entered her apartment near San Tan Village Parkway and Ray Road.
Hansen was taken to the hospital and succumbed to her injuries.
"Just the way she died made no sense to anybody, and we just can't understand it because she was so young and full of life and had so much life ahead of her," the victim's mother told 12News in a previous interview.
Gilbert police said investigators are continuing to pursue all leads related to the case.
Silent Witness recently announced it was offering a reward to try and obtain new information in the investigation. Anyone can contact Silent Witness by calling 480-WITNESS.

Silent Witness:
Arizona's Silent Witness program allows people to send in tips and share information about crimes happening within their local communities.
The program shares unsolved felony case information in multiple ways, including TV, radio and social media.
Anyone who has information on a crime or recognizes a suspect described by the program is asked to call 480-948-6377, go to the program's website online or download the Silent Witness app to provide a tip. The identity of anyone who submits a tip is kept anonymous.
Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case.
Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
