PRESCOTT, Ariz. — A woman wanted for a deadly hit-and-run was recently arrested in Prescott Valley, according to authorities.

Prescott Valley police said officers, with the assistance of traffic cameras, arrested Tereasa Miller, who was wanted in Pinal County in connection to the deadly crash.

The cameras are part of the city's Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system. The system has been in operation since January 2024.

According to police, ALPR has "proven instrumental in assisting law enforcement with various cases, including human trafficking, drug abatement, and vehicle recovery."

During June 2024 police said the system was used to aid in an attempted murder investigation.

"The implementation of ALPRs in Prescott Valley demonstrates PVPD's commitment to utilizing emerging technologies to maintain community safety and reduce crime," police said.

According to police, the system only "registers" license plates that have been associated with a crime or missing person.

The police department did not release further details about Miller and the hit-and-run.
