Police find man dead after Phoenix shooting, suspect on the loose

Police say there is no suspect information at this time.

PHOENIX — Phoenix police officers responded to a report of shots fired Tuesday night near Broadway Road and 7th Street and found a man in the street.

The man was suffering from a gunshot wound. Fire personnel responded and transported the man to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The man was identified as s 61-year-old David Mendoza. 

Police say there is no suspect information at this time. 

Detectives are asking anyone with information concerning this incident to contact the Phoenix Police Department Violent Crimes Bureau at (602) 262-6141 or if individuals with information would like to remain anonymous, they can contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish.
