BUCKEYE, Ariz. — A Buckeye man is in police custody after fatally shooting his wife in the bedroom of their home, Buckeye police said.
According to early reports, the man, later identified as 54-year-old Hercelyn Mayo, entered the Buckeye Police Department station around 4:45 a.m. Tuesday and told officials that he had shot his wife after the two had an argument.
Officers responded to the home near Verrado Way and Yuma Road, where they found the victim, Charon Mayo, deceased in the bedroom with multiple gunshot wounds.
Police said Hercelyn Mayo left the scene shortly after the shooting and drove to a relative’s home before going to the police department to report the incident.
