PHOENIX — One man is dead and another was hurt after a shooting at a Phoenix apartment complex early Friday morning, city police announced.
Shortly before 2:20 a.m., Phoenix police officers were called to the apartment near 51st Street and Elliot Road for reports of a shooting in the pool area.
When officers arrived, they detained two men in connection with the shooting and found the two victims suffering from "serious gunshot wound injuries," according to a police report.
First responders rushed the two men to the hospital where one later died from his injuries. He has been identified as 19-year-old Kashmir Vaughn.
The other man is expected to recover.
Investigators are working to learn more about the shooting. Detectives are looking for multiple suspects in the shooting.

Anyone who has information on a crime or recognizes a suspect described by the program is asked to call 480-948-6377, go to the program's website online or download the Silent Witness app to provide a tip. The identity of anyone who submits a tip is kept anonymous.
Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case.
Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
