A man has been hospitalized after a shooting near downtown Phoenix and police are looking for the person who shot him

The shooting happened on Saturday night near 11th and Van Buren streets in Phoenix. Here's what we know.

PHOENIX — A man has been hospitalized after a shooting near downtown Phoenix on Saturday night, according to the Phoenix Police Department.  

The department told 12News that officers were called to the area of 11th and Van Buren streets due to the shooting at about 9 p.m. on Saturday. 

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot. That man was given medical care at the scene from officers and then was taken to a nearby hospital by Phoenix firefighters. The man has non-life-threatening injures and has been stabilized. 

Police are still searching for the suspect, who left the scene before officers arrived.

No other details about the shooting have been released.
