PHOENIX — Police are looking for the person responsible for shooting and killing a man in a west Phoenix alleyway.
The Phoenix Police Department said the shooting happened early Tuesday morning at around 6:50 a.m. near 7th Avenue and Solano Drive.
Police have identified the victim as 53-year-old Jesse Benich.

According to police, Benich's body was found when officers were called to the alleyway for a welfare check.
Benich had been shot at least one time and was pronounced dead, police said.
Anyone with information about the shooting should call Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO).
