PHOENIX — A robbery suspect has died after being shot by a Phoenix police officer, according to authorities.
The Phoenix Police Department said the shooting happened after an individual was robbed, near 13th Street and Palm Lane, during a private transaction on Offer Up.
Officers learned that the person was robbed at gunpoint and had their motorcycle taken by the suspect, a man later identified as 27-year-old Joshua Main.
Police found Main on the motorcycle stopped in a nearby alley.
When officers approached Main, he allegedly pointed a handgun at them. It was at that time that officers shot the suspect.
Main was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Police said no officers were injured.
"The suspect was struck, and fire personnel are on scene," police said on X, formerly Twitter.

Anyone who has information on a crime or recognizes a suspect described by the program is asked to call 480-948-6377, go to the program's website online or download the Silent Witness app to provide a tip. The identity of anyone who submits a tip is kept anonymous.
Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case.
Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
