Phoenix police confiscate 70,000 fentanyl pills in drug bust

Phoenix police officers pulled a suspect over in May. They later found 70,000 fentanyl pills in the suspect's home.

PHOENIX — 70,000 fentanyl pills and three guns are now off the streets of Arizona after a drug bust in May, the Phoenix Police Department announced in a post on X (formerly Twitter)

On May 23, the Phoenix Police 61X Neighborhood Enforcement Team pulled a driver over and found a "large quantity of fentanyl pills" in their car.

Officers later served a search warrant at the suspect's home and found 70,000 fentanyl pills, $13,600 in cash and three firearms.  

That suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Alfonso Gudalupe Cardona Barrios and he is facing several felony offenses, according to Phoenix police.
