PHOENIX — A West Phoenix food vendor remains in the hospital after he was struck by a bullet on Sunday.
According to Phoenix police, 32-year-old Raul Domínguez was shot around 5 p.m. near Sunridge Park just West of 62nd Avenue and Roosevelt Street.
Amalia Domínguez, Raul's sister, said authorities told her the bullet that struck her brother in the lung was shot from a long distance.

"It wasn't meant for him. He was not the target," Amalia Domínguez said. "[We've been told] it was just a stray bullet."
Fortunately, Amalia Domínguez said there were neighbors nearby who were able to call an ambulance for her brother.
"This could have happened to anyone," she said. "There is fear of what we are seeing during these times with guns."
Amalia Domínguez said her brother, who is in stable condition, was able to recount his experience of that day.
"He said that he didn't see anything, he was just working and it caught him by surprise," Amalia Domínguez said. "He felt like he was going to die because he practically got to the heavens but he resisted because of his daughters"
Amalia Domínguez said this situation has made family matters difficult because her brother is the sole provider of his household with four daughters, three of who are special needs.
"Diapers, milk, rent, he did it all," Amalia Domínguez said.
Phoenix police are still investigating this case.
