Robber sentenced to prison for robbing 5 banks in Phoenix

The robber was caught after a bank customer followed the suspect out of the parking lot and called 911.

PHOENIX — A Phoenix resident has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison after a jury convicted the defendant of robbing multiple banks.

Vivian A. Earle, 42, was found guilty earlier this year of five counts of bank robbery and received their sentence in federal court on Dec. 28.

In 2019, the defendant robbed five banks throughout the Valley and collectively stole about $34,000, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office of Arizona.

Earle was caught after a bank customer followed Earle's vehicle out of the parking lot during the last robbery. The customer called 911 and Phoenix police officers were able to track down and detain the suspect.
