Man arrested after shooting incident near Kyrene Road in Tempe

Police said multiple 911 calls were placed about a man shooting a gun in the area.

TEMPE, Ariz. — Kyrene Road has reopened after a shooting incident in Tempe, according to authorities.

The Tempe Police Department said the incident, which happened around 5:15, led to the roadway's closure from Baseline Road to Guadalupe Road.

Police said multiple 911 calls were placed about a man shooting a gun in the area.

Officers arrived to the scene and were able to arrest the armed man, police said.

According to police, there is no danger to the community at this time.
