Woman in critical condition after being shot at Phoenix park, police searching for suspect

The woman is in critical condition, officials said. Here's what we know.

PHOENIX — Phoenix police are looking for the person who shot a woman and then left the scene at a park in central Phoenix. 

Officers were called to Palma Park near 12th Street and Dunlap Avenue just before 8:30 p.m. after a 911 caller said someone was shot. 

Officers found a woman with a gunshot wound when they arrived. She was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. 

The suspect left the scene before police arrived, officials said. 

Detectives are responding to the scene to take over the investigation.
