CHANDLER, Ariz. — Chandler police have made an arrest after investigating about a dozen similar incidents at a public park involving a man seen touching himself.
Starting in September 2023, police began responding to similar calls of a suspicious man at Desert Breeze Park who had exposed himself and was watching what sounded like pornography on a phone, court records show.
Park visitors described instances of seeing a man sitting on a park bench with his pants pulled down to his knees and making stroking motions. Police believed the same man was responsible for each of the many incidents, based on physical descriptions provided by witnesses.
One witness told police it almost "seemed like he wanted to be caught" based on the suspect's behavior, records show.
A day after the most recent reported incident on Feb. 28, police took 34-year-old Ryan Drummond into custody and booked him into the Maricopa County jail for pending charges of indecent exposure. The suspect declined to make a statement to police.
