PHOENIX — A man was shot while two men attempted to rob him in north Phoenix on Sunday morning, officials with the Phoenix Police Department said.
Officers were called to a shooting near 28th Street and Cactus Road around 9 a.m. for reports of a shooting and found a man with a gunshot wound, officials said.

The victim was taken to a hospital by the Phoenix Fire Department. His condition was not given.
Phoenix officers said the victim was robbed and shot and returned fire. It is unclear if anyone else was injured.
Witnesses told officials that two people were running away from the scene. Officers detained the individuals while detectives continued to investigate.
