PHOENIX — A woman has been arrested following a homicide in south Phoenix, according to authorities.
The Phoenix Police Department said 36-year-old Rebecca Lopez was arrested in connection to the shooting death of 55-year-old Martin Tapia.
Police said Tapia was shot near 18th and Raymond streets on Oct. 31 at around 4 p.m.
Officers arrived to find Tapia shot and laying on the ground. He was rushed to the hospital where he later died, police said.
Witnesses told officers a woman, now identified as Lopez, was seen running from the crime scene, police said.
Lopez was located at a home nearby and arrested, according to police.
Police said they believe Tapia was shot during an argument about a truck.
Lopez is facing a second-degree murder charge, police said.
The investigation into Tapia shooting remains active.
