PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. — A Pinal County man was sentenced to 100 years in prison for sexual exploitation of a minor on Oct. 28, according to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office.

On April 5, 2023, deputies received a report from a staff member at an elementary school of a student who reported being abused for two years by someone they knew.

The suspect was identified as Richard Cuaron, 39. Deputies said they found video and images of child sex abuse on Cuaron's cell phone and stored in a cloud account.

Cuaron was arrested and booked into jail on April 11, 2023.

On Sep. 24, Cuaron was found guilty of 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. On Oct. 28, Cuaron was sentenced to 10 years in prison for each count, totaling 100 years in prison.

"We wish the child victim never had to experience these traumas in the first place, but we are thankful for this outcome as it means the suspect will never be able to victimize another innocent child again," said Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb. "I commend the school staff, my Detectives, and all those involved in this case for advocating for this victim."
