MESA, Ariz. — A man has been arrested after another man died in a shooting near downtown Mesa early Saturday morning, according to the Mesa Police Department

The department told 12News someone called 911 about a man having a seizure at about 4:45 a.m. on Saturday at a home near Lesueur in Mesa.

When officers got to the home and began to treat the man, they noticed he had been shot. They immediately began treating the wound and working to save the man's life, but he lost consciousness and died.

The name of the man who died is being withheld until police are able to notify his family.

Officers soon began looking for the shooter and after speaking with witnesses, they learned that the victim and another man had gotten into an argument that ended with shots being fired.

Witnesses gave officers a detailed description of the suspect and they were able to find him near the scene of the shooting.

That man, later identified as 39-year-old Antonio Marquez-Mora, was taken into custody. He is facing a second-degree murder charge. Marquez-Mora told police the shooting was an accident.

The shooting is still under investigation.

This is a developing story and more details will be added as they are made available.
