Man injured in drive-by shooting in west Phoenix, police searching for suspect

The shooting happened Tuesday evening near 50th Avenue and Thomas Road, police said.

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department is searching for a suspect in a drive-by shooting that injured a man in west Phoenix Tuesday evening. 

Officers responded to the shooting near 50th Avenue and Thomas Road just after 5 p.m.

Police said a vehicle pulled up beside the victim's car and began shooting at him and his female passenger. 

The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The woman was not injured, police said.

Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case.

Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
