PHOENIX — A Valley man who had been president of a software tech company was convicted Wednesday of sexually exploiting children.

The jury in the criminal trial against Raymond Zwiefelhofer, 61, convicted the defendant in Maricopa County Superior Court of 10 counts of sexually exploitation of a minor.

The Tempe Police Department arrested Zwiefelhofer in 2022 after investigators reported finding explicit materials depicting children on an SD card in the defendant's laptop, records show.

The investigation was initiated after police were notified about incriminating material being uploaded online and a search warrant revealed that the person who uploaded the material had connected to an internet signal at World Software Corporation.

Zwiefelhofer was promoted president of the World Software in 2009, according to an old press release.

Not long after Zwiefelhofer's arrest, new leadership was put in place and another company announced it was acquiring World Software Corporation, also known as Worldox, according to LawSites.

Zwiefelhofer was booked into the Maricopa County jail after the jury announced their verdict yesterday. The defendant is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 8.
