PHOENIX — The truck driver who was watching TikTok videos before causing a crash on Interstate 10 that killed five people has been sentenced to 22 years in prison.
Danny G. Tiner, 38, was sentenced last week in court after he pleaded guilty to charges in connection to a deadly crash involving several cars near Wildhorse Pass Boulevard on Jan. 12, 2023.
Tiner was driving over the speed limit in a construction zone before hitting multiple vehicles, some of which caught fire.
The Maricopa County Attorney's Office said Tiner had been accessing TikTok videos while driving and within seconds of the deadly collision.
The deceased victims were identified as Andrew Standifird, Gilberto Franco, Willis Thompson, Ryan Gooding and Gerardo Vazquez.
