Yuma County Sheriff's Office investigating homicide

The victim's body was found near 8th Street and Avenue C on Sunday, according to authorities.

YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. — The discovery of a man's body in Yuma early Sunday morning has sparked a homicide investigation, according to authorities

The Yuma County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Omarion Valenzuela, 18, of Yuma.

Valenzuela's body was found near 8th Street and C Avenue around 7:30 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff's office.

Investigators determined Valenzuela was the victim of a homicide but didn't offer further details about how he died.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information about the case to come forward. You can do so by calling 928-783-4427 or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous. Tips can also be submitted online.

Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case.

Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
