PHOENIX — An Arizona woman accused of abusing her adoptive children and forcing them to participate in her YouTube account was indicted by a grand jury Monday, the Pinal County Attorney’s Office says.
Machelle Hobson of Maricopa, Arizona, was arrested earlier this month after Maricopa Police Department received a call that she was abusing her seven adoptive children if they did not recall their lines or perform as directed for her YouTube videos.
That YouTube page was taken down last week.
A family member confirmed to 12 News that the seven children who were adopted by Hobson were in previously in the state foster program and ranged from 3 to 15 years old.
The most recent adoption occurred in February, the family member said.
Hobson was charged with 30 counts for her alleged actions involving five of the children. Those charges include child abuse and kidnapping.
Hobson will appear in court next for her arraignment at the Pinal County Superior Courthouse on Friday morning.
