GOODYEAR, Ariz. — A Phoenix woman has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a 71-year-old man, according to the Goodyear Police Department.
Police said around 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning, Goodyear officers responded to the area of Bullard Avenue and Catalina Drive to investigate a vehicle-pedestrian collision.
When officers arrived, they found 71-year-old Thomas Stenoien, and the family dog, "Judge," deceased on scene.
Police said several witnesses remained on the scene to help officers determine what happened. Authorities said a bystander saw a suspicious vehicle pull into a private parking lot in the area at the time of the collision and reported their information to authorities.
On Monday, Goodyear police said Joy Joyner, 24, was identified as the suspected hit-and-run driver.
Police said Joyner is facing one count of vehicular manslaughter and two counts of leaving the scene of a collision.
