Valley man arrested for armed robbery during meet-up for online transaction in Goodyear

The robbery happened near the intersection of Central Avenue and Van Buren Street in Goodyear on Friday afternoon.

GOODYEAR, Ariz. — A man from Phoenix has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Goodyear on Saturday.

Goodyear police says their officers were called around 3 pm on Friday due to the robbery, which happened near the intersection of Central Avenue and Van Buren Road.

The victim told officers they had arranged to meet 22-year-old Keith Thrash to purchase something. During their meeting, Thrash allegedly threatened the victim with a weapon, took the victim's money and ran.

Police found Thrash about 10-and-a-half hours later at about 1:30 am on Saturday near the intersection of McDowell Road and Bullard Avenue and arrested him.

He has been booked into the Maricopa County jail on charges of armed robbery and false reporting to law enforcement.

The Goodyear Police Department says anyone meeting with a stranger or taking part in an online transaction should meet in a well-lit place and to notify friends and family of the meeting, who it is with and where it will be. They also say to be extra cautious during the exchanges.
