PHOENIX — Two drivers have been sent to the hospital for precaution after a road rage incident in Phoenix on Saturday, the Phoenix Police Department said.
Around 2:20 p.m., officers were sent to the scene near Greenway Road and Interstate 17 for reports of an aggravated assault call. Once they arrived on the scene, police learned that a tow truck driver and a passenger car driver were involved in a road rage incident.
Police said the driver of the car reportedly attacked the tow truck driver with what they said was a hammer. The driver of the tow truck also tried to allegedly strike the passenger car driver with his truck.
Authorities said several cars were damaged in the incident. The two suspects involved in the road rage incident were hospitalized for precautionary reasons. Police said the two individuals will be booked into jail after they are discharged.
